Hackney Council has a history of evicting people who are putting into use buildings that the Council has left derelict.

The Dalston Theatre and the terraces on Dalston Lane have both seen action by the Council to evict without any intention of bringing the buildings back into operation. Next on the list is the property at St. Mark’s Rise where the Council wishes to evict the residents in order to sell it off.
